Season Results & Awards

The scores are on the doors! After a season of diligently tallying them up, and with thanks to Steve Lang and Kate for their support and calculations, the results of this seasons competitions are in.

Colour Print Cup

Paul Baker pulled off a narrow win right at the end of the year in the colour league. After a slow start in the first couple of competitions, in which he was only commended or highly commended, Paul was consistently on the podium for the last four. With three 2nd places and a 3rd place he scooped the overall league without actually winning a competition, his excellent consistency held off challenges from Andy Dunford and Chris Hands.

Winspear Cup

Chris Hands stormed the mono league. His first entries, in Open 1, were his worst – scoring a 16 commended. After that his five scoring entries were 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st and 3rd. With other podium finishes as well, including a remarkable 1,2,3 hat-trick in Open 2 Chris took a firm grip of the Winspear cup.

Chris’ portrait ‘Errol’ which won Open 2 was recently awarded a PAGB silver medal in one of those exhibitions, scoring 15 out of 15.

Paul Baker and Andy Dunford & June Poston were well beaten into 2nd and joint 3rd respectively.

Clinch Cup

June Poston narrowly edged out Paul Baker to take the honours in the digital image section. June won fully half the competitions, with her win in the final ‘Street’ comp sealing victory in a wide open competition.

Chris Hands was 3rd with honourable mentions to Jim Higgins, Alan Humphries and Karen Redfern who narrowly missed out on the podium and were in the race right until the final competition.

Club Vase

Paul Baker’s previously mentioned consistent scoring saw him runaway with the club vase. In all 6 competitions Paul entered each of the three sections, of those 18 his best score only dropped below a 17 twice!

Thompson Trophy

Karen Redfern won the audio visual competition but unfortunately it’s file size exceeds that which we can display here! Congratulations and sorry to Karen.
